Ex chessWorld champion Anatoli Karpov considered "extraordinary" the location where he will play against Garry Kasparov September 21st to 25th , after having visited, together with the principal organizators of the project 'Valencia,cuna del ajedrez moderno'(Valencia, cradle of the modern chess),the facilities of Palau de les Arts i les Cičncies, which is the place where they are going to play.
Karpov praised the game hall, the ones close to it and their "incomparable ubication". The Russian champion said that "there is a symbiosis between the modern Valencia of the XXIst century with the big events and the antique one, where the chess we play nowadays was founded. This is a universal legacy all Valencian should be proud of".
The act will be retransmitted to the whole world on the radio, television and internet and it’s expected that 10 million people follow the games.
